Surfing on Saturday…

Surfing on Saturday was just as awesome as ever. It was so much bigger this year and the turn out I hope was good. I know Noah was proud of himself. I appreciate all of the patients and the understanding, time and care that Mark, Johnny and Jen gave Noah. It is overwhelming as a parent to see your child try something new with new people and exciting to the point that your heart just melts. – B Robbins

WOW!!!…

I just wanted to take the time to say once again WOW!!! I was afraid to go to the meet and greet on Friday, but I thought I’ve gotta get out and meet others. What a wonderful surprise to me that I was so excited to meet others in my shoes, talk, laugh, and I could finally feel free. My daughter even commented on the way home about how happy I looked and she seems to think it was because we were out in public and people finally were excepting of us. She is 10 and I couldn’t have said it any better. I am so very thankful to all of you who have taken the time to volunteered your time, thought of these wonderful events for the children and were just as nice as could be. Hoping to build life long lasting relationships with you all, and getting more involved will be better for Noah in the long run I know now, and I also know I no longer need to be afraid to let Noah be who he needs to be out in public. Thanks to you all. I do fit in and I know now I always will.” – B Robbins

The Video Social Story…

The Video Social Story was a great idea, I showed it to Noah today and he remembered it, and can’t wait til he gets to try again. I will show him this everyday until the surfing date.” – B Robbins

I knew the children would benefit…

I knew the children would benefit, I didn’t realize how much families would benefit from the support – even as a grandparent. I didn’t do much but I am so proud to have participated with you all in this event. I almost feel selfish because I got so much out of my little bit of work with this event. I can’t wait to work next year! You all rock!!! – A Sumners

Being involved with your event…

Being involved with your event was simply a blessing from God. Words can’t even begin to describe the love that I saw and felt on that beach Saturday. In fact, I struggled a bit when trying to describe my experience to our church family this morning. Congratulations to your entire team; the hard work in organizing, planning, and implementing the action was obviously not easy and the results were nothing less than awesome. I actually went away not knowing who benefitted the most the kids and their families or the surfers and volunteers. Regardless, I do know that I want to contribute more and this event lifted my spirits in a way that only the Lord could have provided. Thanks for allowing me to be a part and I’m already stoked about next year.” – J Brickhouse

What an amazing day…

What an amazing day with the children and their families!! I had a great time!! I have to compliment the surfers-they were incredible in their patience, kindness, and willingness to be flexible. I was very impressed!! Here’s to a great event and many more in the years to come.” – E Emerson

I’m still in awe…

I’m still in awe of the day !!! Thanks for having me back again this year . The video was a pleasure to put together , my hope is that it would touch and bless those that watch it . – N Snyder

I just wanted to share…

I just wanted to share my sincere appreciation for everyone’s efforts in making the Surfing for Autism event a success. First as a mom of one of today’s “surfers” I am forever grateful for the experience that you gave my son, XXXX He had a blast and it was wonderful to share this experience with him. Now as mom and ASNC advocate I have to tell you this event is really special, as you all know, for many it is a once in a life time experience and for ALL the experience of a lifetime. I know every “surfer” and their family is grateful, and even if every person wrote in to say “thanks” I don’t think it could possibly measure the depth of their gratitude to you ALL.

I am so glad…

I am so glad I was able to volunteer for this great day! I had a wonderful time working with everyone and the kids, were as always amazing! What a wonderful day on the beach and mother nature worked with us to get everyone in the water for at least a few moments. I met some great kids and hope that they enjoyed the day as much as I did. Let me know when the next event will be held and I will do everything I can to be there. Maybe a horseback riding expedition for the fall? – Dede T.
