I am a parent of a participant and I don’t know if I could put into words the blessing this event was for our family! To be at an event where your child isn’t “different” and is honored for who they are was incredibly emotional for us. Watching the kids reactions in the water was amazing. So many of the kids were calmed by the waves. Several gained confidence from this new skill they now had. My son was so proud of himself and told people about his surfing experience for months! He normally wouldn’t talk with others about his experiences (he sticks to facts) but he had a lot to say about Surfing for Autism.
